We didn’t know much about the country before we came, and were astonished to find one of the most charming countries in Europe. We hiked for 2 days the Bucegi mountains. The bucolic scenery was out of this world -straight out of a Pieter Breugel painting. We then „graduated” to the Fagaras mountains; much more demanding physically, but the scenery made it worth it. Eine Woche wandern in Rumänien? Das stellte uns bereits vor dem Hinflug vor viele Fragen. Aus dem verregneten Deutschland befürchteten wir zwei (Oliver und Annika), auch in Rumänien auf schlechtes Wetter zu stoßen. Müssten wir evtl. im Regen wandern? Wie würden wir die Touren überstehen als untrainierte Norddeutsche ohne Bergerfahrung? Und wie würde unser Guide sein? Immerhin sollten wir eine Woche gemeinsam verbringen. לפני כמה ימים חזרנו מטרק אדיר של 9 ימים ברכס הפאגארש בהרי הקרפטים ברומניה

היה טרק מדהים, לא קל אבל מלא בנופים מדהימים ותוואי שטח משתנה

It’s been a few days since we finished the 9 day trip in the Fagaras mountains organized for us by Iulian and Horia from www.mountainguide.ro The trip was absolutely perfect! The sites were amazing and the heights of the mountains set the grounds for rare views Everything was organized perfectly and we didn’t have to worry about a single thing from the moment we landed in Bucharest until the moment we took off.

The views from the top were simply stunning and hiking along the peaks with their dramatic drops was really exciting.

As I approached the mountains to meet the group I looked at the snow capped mountains thinking I was going to be hiking in/around the base of the mountain. Little did I realize the next afternoon found me on those snow covered peaks looking down into the rocky green valleys. We hiked along the mountain peaks a good portion of each day and spent the evenings in rural mountain shacks. Along the way we passed wild mountain sheep… (>>>)

Kargow in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, 14.8.2011 Unsere Tour mit Julian Cozma begann als zweiter Teil unseres Rumänien-Urlaubs am 1. August 2011 in Sibiu mit einer Übernachtung im Hotel Casa Luxembourg. Nach einer Reihe eher einfacher Übernachtungen erfreuten wir uns an Atmosphäre, Ausstattung und Großzügigkeit des nach historischem Vorbild restaurierten Gebäudes. Hi Iulian, I wanted to thank you for organizing a fantastic trekking trip in the Carpathian Mountains and a great driving trip to the painted monasteries in Moldova. Iulian empfing uns persönlich am Flughafen Baneasa und wir (Kerstin, Patrick, Iulian und ich) wurden im klimatisierten VW-Bus nach Kronstadt (Brasov) und am nächsten Tag dann nach Freck (Avrig) zum Toureinstieg gefahren. Unter Iulians Bergführung erwanderten wir (Kerstin, Patrick und ab Balea auch Mat) den Hauptkamm der Fogarascher Berge vom Serbota-Gipfel (Westen) bis zu „Fereastra Mare a Sambetei” (Sambata – Sattel) (Osten) in der Zeitspanne 16. – 21. Juli 2011.

Sub ghidarea montana a lui Iulian am strabatut (Kerstin, Patrick iar din Balea si Mat) Creasta Fagarasilor din varful Serbota (vest) pana in Fereastra Mare a Sambetei (est) in perioada 16. – 21. iulie 2011.
