Hiking in Romania it is an unexpected experience for most of the visitors. And like this it was for the Belgium group of hikers from this August. As they are coming from a flat country like Belgium, cycling is the most common sport there. Also, they were good for hiking too, especially on long hikes witch involve a lot of climbing. Not the last, they were jealous when they saw Transfagarasean highway, a long asphalt road with climb 1500 meters, in central part of Fagaras mountains. Of course I told them that our Swedish friends climb it on a record time, and like this may appear a new tour in Romania, cycling on mountain roads, what they do not have in Belgium.
The tour was pleasant, they play football and they cycle together since many years, so the mood and the jokes from each evening was on the right place.
As many times, one of the highlights of the tour was the lunch in Ucea de Sus village, on my grand mother court yard 🙂

it was really a great 9 days trekking in the Carpathians. Meeting you on the airport in Buckarest we immediately felt that we made the right choice to to go with you for our yearly trekking in a new unknown region. For sure at the end of the trekking we realized that you presented us an optimal combination some cultural visits (e.g. the amazing castle in Sinaia) and trekking days in the mountains variating day after day. Even if the weather was a bit unsteady, we did fantastic trekking thanks also to your ability to make the best choices on the routes to follow !
