Senderismo en Rumania, senderismo en los Cárpatos

Senderismo en Rumanía

During April 9th-14th 2009, due to the Easter Holidays, I went hiking for 4 days with Kaoshortanord, Club de Muntanya, from Valencia-Spain. I can say I was pleasantly surprised to find out that, in a city like Valencia, located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, there is a club for mountain tours. Unfortunately our Black Sea cities do not have any hiking clubs at all. Anyway, as I found out during the tour, the weather in Valencia in this time of year was not very „friendly” (rainy and quite cold, as I understood). However… (>>>)

Walking on Dracula county

Walking in Dracula county

Walking in Bran county (know as Dracula county) is a very nice idea, if you know where to go. The most beautiful routes are traversing mountain villages of Magura, Pestera, Sirnea, Moeciu de Sus, Fundatica, Fundata and Simon, but not on marked routes, so is not easy to find your way. Even with a map is not easy. Not the last, walking near by or traversing near sheep farms can be delicate from sheep dog point of vewi. So be very carefully when you see some dogs. This are sheep dogs not pets! I can say that last week the weather was very nice for walk… (>>>)

Climbing Moldoveanu peak, Romania

Climbing Moldoveanu peak, the highest peak in Romania

Climbing Moldoveanu peak, the highest peak in Romanian mountains can be a easy job, or a hard one! For the four of us (Sarah, Hannah, David and me, Iulian) I can say it was a easy job with a wet ending, however it was great! The tour began in Balea Lac, with one day warm up, climbing Buteanu peak, one of the peaks over 2500 meters high from Romanian mountains, that offers one of the best views from all Fagaras range, but of course, you have to be there on the right time, otherwise is possible to just eat your sandwich in the clouds!
