Nick hiked in Romania back on 2008 and 2009. And since then we were from time to time in contact, even meeting for a drink in London some years ago. And on 2019 we start to plan another tour, this time for Nick, Louise and the girls!
But the Covid change our plans and we delayed the tour for more than a year! But the wait was well worth it, because the tour was a 4 season tour: we had summer, autumn and winter weather, and all during one week!
The tour start in Sinaia and Predeal, lovely forest walks, then we moved to Brasov city back garden in Bran coun… (>>>)
As most of the requests, the one I received from Bernhard was simple: I would like to hike in Romania with my daughter, kind of gift for her 18 years old birthday!
Is not first time when parents are coming with kids to hike in Romania, as presents for any type of anniversary, but each time is special! The interest of a young person just to go hiking on another country, with one of the parents, surprise me each time!
And this time I choose for them Bucegi and Fagaras mountains, the most representatives mountain ranges in Romanian Carpathian.
Any tour in Romania must include a walking tour, especially when you are coming from an island as Tenerife!
The walks were mainly on the beautiful Transylvanian forests, in Sinaia, Brasov and Zarnesti areas. We understand that most of the groups we’re guiding, are interested in nature that is different than in the home countries. And we were right in most of the situations!
The best views were during our walk in Postavaru range near Brasov city. Beautiful forest, colours, and the views over North of Bucegi mountains were breath … (>>>)

It was a three days tour, starting from Victoria town, accommodation at Podragu hut. The weather forecast didn’t look great, but even a rain is beautiful some… (>>>)
I hiked first time with Mila and Jose back on 2008, in Bucegi and Fagaras mountains. They are Israeli citizens with Romanian roots and families, and because the love at first sight is hard to forger, they return in Romania for nature tours. And on summer of 2019 Mila and Jose organize a tour for another 12 friends from Israel, to introduce them to the beautiful nature of Romania. Moldoveanu peak in Fagaras mountains, is the highest peak in Romanian mountains, with a height of 2544 m.
Situated on the East part of Fagaras mountains, the peak is accessible from all possible directions, South, North, East and West, but the most spectacular climb of Moldoveanu peak start from West, from Podragu hut. Are few ways to arrive at Podragu hut, the “easy” but beautiful one, in on Arpasul Mare valley, and after 5-6 hours of hiking, Podragu lake and hut appear!
Most of the climbs of Moldoveanu peak are part of one week, or more, … (>>>)
More and more Asian tourists are coming to Romania, you see them roaming the historical cities of Brasov and Sibiu, or queuing for a visit at Bran Castle or Peles Castle. Up the mountains, however, it’s a rather different story. Or at least it was, till this summer, when a consistent group of Japanese hikers came to Romania for a longer tour, including the historical milestones mentioned above, but also trekking in Bucegi and Fagaras Mountains.
It was our job and honor to guide the group up to the highest point of Romania, on Moldov… (>>>)
We have planned with our Italian friends a week-long traverse of the Southern Carpathians in July 2018, starting in Sinaia, across Bucegi, than along the main section of the Fagaras ridge, from Sambata to Negoiu.
After a good start in Bucegi mountains, the weather turned for the bad when we moved to Fagaras mountains. Instead of the main ridge traverse, we opted for some easier treks in the lower altitudes, at Negoiu and Barcaciu, but also an attempt towards Moldoveanu Peak via Turnuri and Podragu. We may not have the joy of breathing t… (>>>)
