Hiking Romania, Bucegi and Ciucas mountains, South Carpathian mountains

Even priests love nature, so on middle of June I had the pleasure to hike and talk with Karl Heintz, a priest from Bottrop, Germany. As always in June, we were hiking on the blooming period for mountain flowers, including the Rhododendrons, those beautiful mountain flowers. Our tour start in Bucegi mountains, and the original plan was to go to Fagaras area after Bucegi. But some last changes taking in consideration the weather forecast, bring us to Ciucas mountains, a small but beautiful mountain range in South East of Transylvania, n… (>>>)

Mountain biking Romania, Ciucas, Bucegi and Piatra Craiului national park

Two words come to mind when remembering our six days expert mountain biking trip we organized for four Austrian riders. Brutal und Total. I kept hearing those two words day after day, trail after trail, uphill after uphill and descent after descent. I am not a German language expert, but it was pretty obvious our friends were really excited by their mountain biking experience in the Transylvanian Carpathian Mountains.

We covered five different mountains – Ciucaș, Grohotișului, Baiului, Bucegi and Piatra Craiului – t… (>>>)

Hiking in Bucegi and Fagaras mountains, explore Carpathian mountains

First they came in Romania for business and then they start to explore the mountains. Are a group of 6-7 friends, coming from Holland for the second time hiking in Romania. First time they were surprised how much snow we can get in April on the high hills of Bran county, but the tour was ok. After three years they returned for some more days, so we enjoyed Bucegi and Fagaras mountains. And we really enjoy the tours, because the weather was just perfect for hiking and as usual at end of May, the alpine flowers were beautiful to see! Looking forwa… (>>>)

Discovering the South-East Transylvania on mountain bike

The Saxon villages, the Bran Country, the Piatra Craiului National Park: three hotspots of Transylvanian tourism can be nicely covered in a rather relaxed three days mtb program, as showed by our recent trip with Eva and Christian this June.

The visit at Viscri fortified church, the mtb ride on the bike trails built along the mild slopes of the Transylvanian hills, through forests and meadows, the exquisite accommodation at Casa cu Zorele, the impressive Zarnesti Gorges and the imposing Piatra Craiului National Park, the scenic vi… (>>>)

Hiking in Bucegi mountains, rhododendron tour in Transylvanian Alps

Simple things are the best! Was a tour what I do almost every year and I enjoyed a lot each time! This time was just two days but was nice!

Enjoy the photos, Iulian, Iunie 2015

We spent two great days with Iulian, hiking in the Bucegi mountains. Bringing together a group of friends for an unusual hiking experience actually was not an easy task, with all the individual wishes, appointments, holiday plans, work issues and a bit of indecisiveness here and there. Iulian was a great help there, being flexible with the dates, the planning and quic… (>>>)

Walking tour in Romania, Bran county tour

Danes have an average of 5 to 6 weeks of holidays every year, so no wonder they are a very wanderous kind of people. Denmark being a relatively small country, the Danes usually travel abroad to follow their typical North-European appetite for outdoor activities.

Torben and Jesper chose the Bran County in Romania for their hiking trip in April 2015, hoping for some nice spring weather and fresh-green landscape. It was spring indeed, but the weather was rather challenging, keeping us at lower altitudes to avoid the unexpected snow up on … (>>>)

Ski touring weekend in Bucegi mountains, Romania

If is possible to add a title to a ski tour this has to be: Never stop exploring! Because things like this have to happen: Bill, a 71 years old Australian gentelman, based in England, never stopped enjoying ski touring around the world. We were very impressed by his ski touring trips record around the world and by his determination when came about weather conditions! On first and last day of our trip, traversing Bucegi mountains from Sinaia to Ialomita valley, weather was bad, quite bad as a English may say! But a mountain lover never st… (>>>)

Ski touring in Romania, return of esquiadores Españoles

They are from Zaragoza, near the Pirineos and they were first time in Romania on winter of 2012, when the weather was not on our side. Anyway, after 3 years they returned to see if we can discover now the Romanian mountains on better weather. And we did! The first plan was Bucegi and Fagaras mountains, but at the end was Bucegi mountains and a speed climbing tour on Poiana Brasov ski resort, on a heavy snowing day! This time Bucegi mountains were great and we enjoyed everything, snow, sun, weather conditions and not the last the delicious foo… (>>>)

Splitboard trip in Romania, Bucegi mountains, South East of Transylvania

During a winter tour, weather can bring you to heaven or not! Something like this was happening during our splitboard trip in Bucegi mountains, at the end of February, when weather was not as good as we expected! We did our best, we climbed Tataru peak in one of the days when was worth to go out, but the most beautiful day was the last one, when we get 30 cm of fresh snow, and we enjoyed our way back to Sinaia! Enjoy the photos, Iulian, March 2015

Ski touring in Bucegi mountains and Poiana Brasov ski resort

Middle of February was not so very friendly with us. Weather was good, plenty of sun and good weather but pretty windy and the snow was pretty much packed in wind layers, so not very easy to enjoy a ski tour. But even like this we find our ways to beautiful places to enjoy viewing the surrounding of the South East of Transylvania, Bran county, Piatra Craiului mountains. After Bucegi mountains we visited Peles castle and Brasov city, our home town, and we were for two day skiing on Poiana Brasov ski resort. Slopes and snow quality were outsta… (>>>)
