Tatal lui Manfred este din Romania, dintr-un sat Transilvananean din podisul Hartibaciului. Manfred ca fost de cateva ori la bunici, in Romania, iar acum s-a hotarat sa urce pe cel mai inalt varf din Carpatii Romanesti, pe Moldoveanu, in Iunie 2022.

Luna Iunie poate fi o luna buclucasa pentru drumetii montane, poate sa ploua, chiar sa ninga, dar noi am fost norocosi, avand o vreme superba pe durata celor 3 zile petrecute impreuna la Cabana Podragu.

Drumetie în țară Branului și Bucegi

Nick hiked in Romania back on 2008 and 2009. And since then we were from time to time in contact, even meeting for a drink in London some years ago. And on 2019 we start to plan another tour, this time for Nick, Louise and the girls!

But the Covid change our plans and we delayed the tour for more than a year! But the wait was well worth it, because the tour was a 4 season tour: we had summer, autumn and winter weather, and all during one week!

Drumetii in Romania

Any tour in Romania must include a walking tour, especially when you are coming from an island as Tenerife!

The walks were mainly on the beautiful Transylvanian forests, in Sinaia, Brasov and Zarnesti areas. We understand that most of the groups we’re guiding, are interested in nature that is different than in the home countries. And we were right in most of the situations!

The best views were during our walk in Postavaru range near Brasov city. Beautiful forest, colours, and the views over North of Bucegi mountains were breath … (>>>)

Drumetii montane in Romania, în munții Fagaras

Liliana is a Romanian born lady, living in Italy since many years, and this summer she try to organise a hiking tour in Romanian mountains, for a group of Italian and Dutch friends. Unfortunately because of the pandemic situation the tour was cancel, but Liliana still want to enjoy the beauty of the Carpathian Mountains.

Drumetie pe Varful Scara in muntii Fagaras

Mirko and Holger choose to hike in Romanian mountains just for a weekend, on late autums days of 2019. The chosen area was Barcaciu hut in West of Fagaras, easy access from Avrig town, welcoming hosts and outstanding hikes!

And the weather was perfect, we saw Fagaras mountains on his beauty during our hike to Scara peak.

Drumetie pe varful Moldoveanu in muntii Fagaras

Moldoveanu peak in Fagaras mountains, is the highest peak in Romanian mountains, with a height of 2544 m.

Situated on the East part of Fagaras mountains, the peak is accessible from all possible directions, South, North, East and West, but the most spectacular climb of Moldoveanu peak start from West, from Podragu hut. Are few ways to arrive at Podragu hut, the “easy” but beautiful one, in on Arpasul Mare valley, and after 5-6 hours of hiking, Podragu lake and hut appear!

Un grup din Luxemburg, bucurandu-se de muntii Romaniei

We were a group of 6  friends from Luxembourg that originally were very reluctant to go hiking in Roumania.  But thanks to Julian, our guide, we finally had a wonderful time in the Carpathians Mountains.  Julian went out of his way to please us with our  different needs.  He was flexible enough with  any change of program and destination.  Thanks to him,  with  his  perfect knowledge of the country, we were able to fully admire the country-side, in all its beauty.  Not only were we pleasantly surprised  by the landscape, but  also the cl… (>>>)

Ten days of hiking in Transsilvania

Adding ten days of hiking in Transsilvania to our down-the-Danube cycling trip Annabel and I sought to top off one adventure with another. Logically, our erratic way of communication should have led us straight into the desert, but thanks to Iulian’s golden patience we got golden Horia to take us through Postavaru, Piatra Craiului, Bucegi and Fagaras Mountains. Walking tour in Carpathians, Bucegi mountains, Romania

Maybe the mountains are the same as last weekend, but the weather, the clouds and the hikers make the difference as always. This weekend, 26-27 November, I was traversing Bucegi mountains with Beth, Carmen, Marc and Catalin, on a easier but challenging route. We hiked on the plateau of Bucegi mountains from Babele cable car station to Omu peak the highest peak in Bucegi mountains, enjoying the views which surround us wherever we look, because the weather was one more time on our side.
