Walking tour in rainy but beautiful Romania

You’d say rain is a major downer when going for a walking trip. Who wouldn’t prefer a nice, sunny, warm day on the trails instead of marching around, across or simply through muddy puddles, with rain falls ranging from light drizzles to heavy hail, with constantly wet shoes, clothes, etc.

Still, if you love mountains, you enjoy them no matter how the weather is. That’s exactly what we did, in the select company of seven Swedish guests that we guided through Bucegi mountains from Sinaia to Moeciu, than across Bran Cou… (>>>)

Walking tour in Transylvania, this beautiful part of Romania

Dear Iulian, Thank you so much for showing me a bit of Transylvania ,,this  beautiful  part of Romania”. We did have a wonderful time travelling with you.  It was so nice and easy to follow in your step and have all the time to look around in this great unspoiled nature.  It was wonderful to have the feeling that everything was unspoiled and basic. No other tourists.  Just like the three of us were alone in the world.  We had so much fun and we will have good memories from this trip forever. We hope we can come again to see some more, maybe going t… (>>>)

Explore Carpathian garden, walking & culture in Romania

On my those 12 years of mountain guiding and organizing outdoor tours in Carpathian garden, I have learned that one image is more valuable then 1000 words.  I invite you to see some images from my last „Explore Carpathian garden, walking & culture in Romania” tour in South East of Transylvania, together with Tatiana and Nasser.

We did a walk from village to village, on one of the most surprising and beautiful part of Transylvania, where you meet real nature and local people every day. After the walking tour, we visite… (>>>)

Skitouren in Rumänien, Skitouren in Karpaten, Bucegi und Fagaras Berge

Hallo lieber Iulian,

Ski mountaineering in Romania, Bucegi and Fagaras mountains

Ski mountaineering in Romania, Bucegi and Fagaras Mountains 05-11.03.2012

If I would say that this week was perfect, I’d lie. Not all the days were sunny, and not everywhere we had the best snow. I had even lost a few good photo shots, but behind all this the tour was nearly perfect.

I met them at the Airport and from the first look I knew that all of them will all be good, very good. Their Latin blood and the very relaxed way of being helped very much to what was about to come: A dream week.

First day on the mountain was used mainly to reach our hut an… (>>>)

Schweizer Freunde auf einer Skitour in Rumänien, Bucegi und Fagaras Gebirge

I can describe the tour on very few words: great people, nice weather, but it will be a pity! So the long version is like this: it was a group of five friends, all from Switzerland, coming for one week ski tour in Romanian mountains, Bucegi and Fagaras. Very nice people, with a lot of humor and a big desire to see new places and to meet local people! Maybe we didn’t had the best snow conditions, was quite warm for this period of the year, but even like this we enjoyed our ski tours and the visits in Ucea de Sus village, Brasov and Bucharest cit… (>>>)

Los esquiadores españoles en un esquí de montaña en las montañas de Bucegi, Rumania

Hmmm, I’m not sure if we were skiing in Romania or in Siberia 😉 , because of the windy days what we had in Bucegi mountains. Weather is not all the time as we wish or as we expect, but always we find ways to enjoy a ski tour. We did a traverse of Bucegi mountains, starting from Cota 1400 in Sinaia to Moeciu de Sus village, over Tataru peak and Strunga pass. Weather was so and so, I mean from sunny but windy periods to totally white out periods! Despite the white out from last day, we enjoyed a forest descent on powder snow, and like this we end our … (>>>)

Snowsnoeing i Transsylvanien, Rumænien

My wife bought this trip for me for Christmas and for my wife it was an importance that I could travel with a guide where trust and personality were the key words. And I must say that it was as she hoped.

My trip was a mountaineering trip over 5 days. Before I even arrived, I have had a long and positive dialogue with Iulian, who even offered to lend me some equipment that i needed. I received lots of good advice and I felt very well prepared to be alone in Romania. The tour, which included only me, took place under great conditions because we were… (>>>)

Powder snow, forest skiing in Poiana Brasov ski resort, Romania

Well, still snowing here, and last weekend we did it again through the forests of Poiana Brasov ski resort. This time we used the ski lifts to enjoy all the powder from the forests. And we really enjoy it!

For some people skiing mean just a different way to get exposed to other, or things like this, but when you ski through the forest is just you and the big snow, sometime a tree, and maybe a someone who’s telling you what to do to shot some photos. It doesn’t matter what skis you use, how fat they are, is matter that you enjoy s… (>>>)
