Exploring Romania, walking, culture, enjoy tasty food

A conversation with a Romanian taxi driver in London a few years ago put Romania on my travel radar. He enthusiastically described the beautiful scenery and many hiking options available in his home country. From the beginning of our correspondence with Iulian, he was prompt and efficient in dealing with our enquiries which gave us confidence in his professionalism. The outstanding feature of Iulian’s company is that it genuinely offers tours which are tailored to the specific needs of the group and the itinerary is flexibl… (>>>)

Explore Romania, enjoy mountains and culture

In brief, it was like this: we all enjoyed a two week tour in Romania, yes in Romania, meaning that we explored half of the country, driving, walking and tasting delicious food! In detail, we were in Bucharest, Sinaia, Bucegi mountains, Simon mountain village, Brasov city, Fagaras mountains, Balea Lake, Ucea de Sus village, Sibiu, Sighisoara, Gura Humorului and painted monasteries from that area and finally back to Bucharest. It was a tour with all the necessary ingredients, sun, some rain, lovely landscapes, good jokes and most im… (>>>)

Active holiday in Romania, family hiking in Romanian Carpathians

They choose to spent a 3 weeks holiday in Romania, combining walking in the mountains with cultural visits and sitting in the sun. Was middle of August when we start the trip, start of September when we finish 🙂 So I was happy to organize for those two German families a trip as they wish, starting with Ocna Sibiului, Barcaciu hut in Fagaras mountains, Salvamont hut in Bucegi mountains, Sinaia, Sighisoara and Brasov cities, Viscri and Balea Lake tourist destinations and not the last, Poarta and Moeciu de Sus mountain villages. The trip we… (>>>)

Hiking Fagaras main ridge, Romanian mountains – meeting high expectations

Things looked pretty difficult when Linda told me, upon arrival, that this trip to Romania was presented to her as “the best hiking trip one can have””. Not before mentioning, as a side note, that she had traveled across the continents, seeing most the world known attractions around the globe :-). In between trips, she was living in a quiet island, famous around the world for harbouring the capital city of British Columbia, Canada.

That’s what I’d call high expectations, I told myself while driving t… (>>>)

Wandern in Rumänien, aktiven Urlaub in Siebenbürgen

Mihai, August 20(>>>)

Explore Carpathian garden, walking & culture in Romania

On my those 12 years of mountain guiding and organizing outdoor tours in Carpathian garden, I have learned that one image is more valuable then 1000 words.  I invite you to see some images from my last “Explore Carpathian garden, walking & culture in Romania” tour in South East of Transylvania, together with Tatiana and Nasser.

We did a walk from village to village, on one of the most surprising and beautiful part of Transylvania, where you meet real nature and local people every day. After the walking tour, we visite… (>>>)
