Ski touring family trip in Transylvanian Alps, Romania

This is happening when you son study medicine in Cluj Napoca University: you go to visit him, but you bring your ski touring gear with you, because are some nice mountains and powder to ski! And this Octavian and Bettina did, they came for a ski tour in Fagaras and Bucegi montains, one of the best and most accessible mountains for ski touring in Romania. Even if the weather at Balea lake was a truly winter weather, cold and wind storms, we enjoyed blue sky and powder snow during our trips in Bucegi mountains.

Back Country skiing in Bran Country, Romania

The rolling hills of the Bran Country are a perfect place for hiking and mountain biking tours for most of the year, but they are also a brilliant destination for ski shoeing or, when snow allows it, for some incredible Back Country skiing days.

The mountain villages of Simon, Magura, Pestera and Sirnea, the lower altitude trails of the Piatra Craiului National Park and the Bucegi Natural Park were the scenery in which we thoroughly enjoyed five days of great outdoors.

Explore Romania, Danube Delta, Dobrogea and Maramures county

We returned for our second consecutive summer in Romania visiting the Danube Delta and also the Maramures region in the north. It was the perfect combination of bird-watching and hiking. Iulian’s local knowledge is extensive and his enthusiasm for local food and culture is contagious. The accommodation provided involved a variety of quality hotels and homestays and we will always remember the hospitality of Ion and Maria in Botiza. The return of the Jedi, aka Hong Kong ladies exploring Romania

Well, well, well the three ladies from Hong Kong spent a second consecutive summer holiday in Romania, and this time they brought Clara too. As last year holiday, this one was a share between exploring Romanian cuisine and nature, but on different regions of the country. 4 days ski touring in Bucegi mountains

Romanian mountains can be a destinations for short trips, hiking, walking, mountain biking, and why not, for ski touring. With a lot of experience and a good logistic, but off course, with good weather and snow conditions, we enjoyed 4 days of ski touring in Bucegi mountains, on last March. I meet Nicolas many years ago, he’s now based in France, but he still love Carpathian mountains, and with each occasion he share his love with his friends in France. West Tyrone Ramblers on trip to Romanian mountains

From time to time, some Irish ramblers go abroad, and they are hungry to discover new destinations. Few years ago, Martin and his friends landed in Carpathian mountains for a tour, together with another 10 friends.

Enjoy mountain biking in Romanian mountains

We are a group of four Swedes who love exploring different countries and especially the mountains and the country side on bike, by foot and on skies. This year we decided to travel to Romania to test the Carpathians on mountain bikes. Wild flower walking tour in Transylvanian Alps

They came all the way from Australia, visiting Tinne’s family in Holland but also to see the wild flower-rich meadows that Transylvania is known for. In some parts the horse and cart is still the normal mode of transport, and hay is cut and stacked by hand – an everyday reality. We wound our way up through forested mountains in Bucegi and along fertile valleys with views of steep alpine meadows in Simon village with an extraordinary diversity of flowers.
