Mountain biking in the Transylvanian Alps, Romania

Mountain biking in the Transylvanian Alps, Romania

It was a long wait, but totally worth it. Scheduled to take place in June 2020, the Transylvanian Alps tour with a small group of brave Belgian mountain bikers finally happened in September 2021. Ciucaș, Baiului, Bucegi and Piatra Craiului Mountains offered us some unforgettable days.

The Covid pandemic might have dramatically changed the world around us, but the mountains are as beautiful as ever. The Carpathians offer some unique combination of pure alpine territory, vast areas with little to no now human presence. And loads of i… (>>>)

Tom’s progression – mtb in Transylvania

Mtb in Transylvania

The year of the COVID pandemic put a sudden stop to travelling abroad, here as everywhere. Our regular tours were put on hold, as our guests weren’t able to fly to Romania. However, people living in Romania were invited to have a closer look on the local adventure tourism options.

Like our friend Tom, who in his working hours in Bucharest makes some truly brilliant, mouth watering sourdough bread. He decided that he needs to do more about his free time, exploring the local mountains, experiencing what Romania has to offer. And in w… (>>>)

Our 2019 mtb season was a blast

Our 2019 mtb season was a blast

Many say that the 2019 season marked the end of an era for the various leisure industries, including adventure tourism. Well, if this will be the case, we can honestly say that we ended this said era with a bang. Our 2019 mountain biking season was a brilliant one. Check it out in this short video round-up:

We’ve had some exquisite custom short tours: Daniel, coming from Sweden, open the party in April. Monika and her friends drove to Romania for a longer trip, out of which four days were reserved for mountain biking. Sam flew all the w… (>>>)

Building the French Connection: VTT en Roumanie

The Postavaru Mountains, the Piatra Craiului National Park and the Bucegi Natural Park were our playground for an intensive four-days mountain biking adventure at the beginning of the 2018 season.

Our guests were a group of French “VTT-istes” from Lyon area. They enjoyed the great landscapes, the nice weather, the delicious local food, and, of course, the great trails.

We are slowly but firmly building a proper French Connection, putting Romania on the top destinations list for “les VTTistes français”… (>>>)

Swedes enjoying the Carpathian mountains

Sometimes it is simply better to let our guests tell the story. Without much ado, here it is:

“We are a group of four Swedes who love exploring different countries and especially the mountains and the country side on bike, by foot and on skies. This year we decided to travel to Romania to test the Carpathians on mountain bikes. The expectations were set high after reading the web page and the professional contact with Horia and Iulian before arriving in Romaina. And indeed, the Carpathians and our experiences during the week didn’… (>>>)

Israeli mountain bikers in Bucegi Mountains

The Israeli mountain bikers seem generally reluctant to go for a full-mountain experience. Lacking experience in tackling long ascents and natural mountain trails, they more often than not opt for “safer” programs, with more cable car lifts, minibus transfers, fewer hours on the trails, etc.

Ronnen, Shane, Motti and Zeev where ready to get out of their comfort zone, opting for our true mountain Bucegi Circuit mtb tour. And they’ve got an experience they will brag about for years to come. A true mountain biking e… (>>>)

The high trails of the Carpathians on mountain bike

We ended a long and consistent season of mountain biking with an extended Transylvanian Alps tour, together with a cheerful group of Belgian bikers. We rode across Ciucas Mountains, Grohotisului and Baiului Mountains, the mighty Bucegi Massif, and the impressive Piatra Craiului.

Long ascents, even longer descents, endless trails. Mountain biking as it should be. Come and taste it for yourself in the Romanian Carpathian Mountains! Horia, September 2016(>>>)

Young at heart: mountain biking the trails at 60

I don’t know about you, but I am pretty sure about me: it’s like Lubo and Milo that I want to be when I am sixty years old. On bike, riding single trails, sweating uphill and shouting downhill. Visiting new places, new countries, new mountains.

I read somewhere that the secret to have a healthy heart and a fresh mind is to do something that scares you a little in every day of your life. Well, we definitely provided enough testing moments for Milo and Lubo during the four days of mountain biking we organized for them this August. Th… (>>>)

Weatherproof, mountain biking in Romania

Mountain biking in Brasov city area and Bucegi mountains

If there is something unique about mountain biking in Brasov, Romania, it’s the diversity of landscape and trails you can experience in a relatively small area. It’s always a pleasure to see the excitement of our guests when they witness with their own eyes the smooth transition from forest to alpine teritory, from limestone to conglomerate rock formations, from busy mountain resorts to quiet pastures. from high ridges down to mountain gorges.

Bucegi Circuit, our most popular six-days mountain biking tour, offers g… (>>>)
