Skitouren im Bucegi-Gebirge Karpaten, halb Winter – halb Frühling

Es ist die Jahreszeit wo sich viele auf den kommenden Frühling freuen und viele träumen weiter vom Schnee und den ersten Schispuren im strahlenden Pulver hinter sich zu lassen. Eine Jahreszeit wenn die Tage länger sind, die Sonne stärker aber immer wieder noch genug Kälte dabei ist um dem lang nachgejagden Schnee genießen zu können.

Nach einer Woche mit relativ wenig geignetem Wetter für Schitouren, bin ich letztes Wochenende mit Michael in Bucegi-Gebirge Schitouren gegangen und wir haben genau den Wechsel zwischen Februar und M… (>>>)

Meine Freundin Ela und ich sind viele Jahre zum Snowboarden in die Alpen gefahren und beschlossen, dieses Jahr etwas Neues zu versuchen. Zum einen wollten wir ein anderes Gebirge sehen, zum anderen mit Hilfe von Splitboards deutlich mehr als bisher im Backcountry unterwegs sein. Ein wenig Freeride Erfahrung konnten wir zwar aufweisen, Touring ganz ohne Lifthilfe war jedoch neu für uns. Gipfelerfolge waren uns nicht wichtig, wir wollten einfach schöne Natur ohne viele Touristen erleb… (>>>)

Splitboard in Romania, Bucegi and Piatra Craiului mountains

On September 2014 I was kindly asked by Sander to organize a splitboard trip for him and his girlfriend, Elzbieta. Both were beginners in touring and splitboading, and were very clear on the tours they request: more touring then climbing peaks. And this we did. We enjoyed four days in Bucegi mountains and two days in Piatra Craiului national park. Walking holiday in Transylvania, Romania, Bran county and Bucegi mountains

Four days of mild, relaxed hiking on the hills of Bran Country and up in Bucegi Mountains passed by like a nice, warm summer breeze with David and Catherine. Lush green pastures were feasting our eyes, a surprising encounter for the end of August, when all vegetation is starting to show the sings of autumn.

It was a perfect escape from a busy place for our two guests, who thoroughly enjoyed every minute, every meter of quiet trail, serene forest or majestic mountain crest. Batteries charging time at its best, just a couple of hours flight f… (>>>)

Walking holiday in Transylvania

Many thanks for arranging our walking tour with the very excellent Horia. Caroline and I were delighted with the itinerary in the Bucegi mountains – the scenery was spectacular and Horia knowledgeable, informative and sensitive to our levels of fitness and expertise or lack thereof….

Dutch hikers in Romania, hiking in Fagaras mountains

On the last years we deal quite a lot with hikers or bikers from Benelux countries. Well, I can say from the flat countries of Benelux. We were warned by Sigge to be carefully with them, because they bike and hike flat. Sometime they were very good prepared for climbs on bikes or on hikes, or sometime they were well surprised when they have to climb 1000 m in one climb. But this may happen when you travel for an active vacation. And when this active vacation happen to be in Carpathian mountains, be sure that we can find 500 or 1000 meters to climb f… (>>>)

Four seasons in six days of mtb in Romania

Ausrine, Karolis, Aurimas și Tadas drove 1500km from Lithuania to Romania with four bikes on the rooftop of their car, hoping for some unforgettable mountain biking experiences in the Romanian Carpathian Mountains, near Brașov City. And that’s precisely what they’ve got.

We rode our bikes together on nicely flowing trails and technical single tracks, on long climbs and endless descents, through forests an pastures, over roots and rocks. We enjoyed some really unusual weather, going through sun, rain, clouds, win… (>>>)

Bergwanderung im Bucegi, Fagaras und Piatra Craiului-Gebirge, Rumanien

Mit Gabi und Michael haben wir versucht immer zwischen den Regenwolken zu wandern und uns ist es gelungen. Obwohl schlechtes Wetter angekündigt wurde, haben wir das Glück auf unserer Seite gehabt und wir sind eigentlich trocken bis zum Ende unserer Tour geblieben. Im Bucegi-Gebirge nach dem langen Aufstieg durch das Cerbului Tal haben wir den Omu-Gipfel erreicht und dann sind wir weiter nach Padina gewandert bei wunderschoenem Wetter. Dear Horia, dear Iulian, Thank you for these nice pictures & article and your profesionalism in guiding us thru the Carpates all along the week. It has been an excellent experience for me and also as you said a challenge and I am really pleased to have shared this week with you. VTT en Roumanie: the French connection is open

Word about our mtb tours in the Carpathian mountains, Transylvania, is constantly spreading. Bikers from Germany, Austria, The Netherlands, UK, Sweden are coming here for a few good years now, and it was about time for the French mountain bikers to show up.
