Bereits zum zweiten mal ging es in die Karparten zum Splitboarden.
Letztes Jahr waren wir schon begeistert von der Natur den Touren und dem tollen Essen.
Waren wir bis jetzt „nur“ im Bucegi Gebirge unterwegs, so sollten es diesmal auch ein paar Tage im Fagaras sein.
Die Bedingungen waren im Durchschnitt ziemlich gut und so hatten wir einige tolle Touren mit teilweise großartigen Abfahrten.
Iulian passte die Trips immer perfekt auf das Wetter und unseren Bedürfnissen an.

Michael and his wife Bianca were here, in Bucegi mountains last year at begin of January, and we did a ski touring, splitboard and snowshoeing trip in Bucegi mountains. We start at Sinaia resort, on beautiful spring time, even if was 5th of January, enjoying some some sunny days in Bucegi central part, and ending in big powder snow in Simon and Moeciu de Sus mountain villages!

At the beginning of our tour, Bucegi mountains were just a big desert, without sand, sorry, snow! But at least was blue sky!
Second day, the same blue sky, but we manage to find some nice powder for some long lines!
Well, then we had a situation, meaning a snow storm came over Bucegi, and true winter finally arrived in Carpathian mountains.
After we traverse Dudele mountains, from Bucegi to upper parts of Moeciu de Sus mountain village, in true snow storm, we had a really big surprise: at least 50-70 cm of fresh powder snow, untouched, was th… (>>>)
Wir waren jetzt das zweite Mal mit Iulian unterwegs, und das sagt eigentlich schon alles.
Die Organisation war auch dieses Mal komplett reibungslos, auch wenn wir wetterbedingt das Programm ein wenig umgestellt haben. Durch eine ungewöhnliche Wärmeperiode gab es diesmal recht wenig Schnee, aber durch seine Ortskenntnis hat Iulian immer wieder schönen Schnee für uns gefunden.
Super ist auch, dass er als Guide seine Touren jeden Tag perfekt am Können und der Kondition seiner Gäste ausrichtet. So ist man immer gefordert, jedoch n… (>>>)
They were splitboarding in Romania last January. And they return because they enjoyed! This year weather was much better than last year, but the poor winter conditions across all Europe, was presented here too.
Anyway, we take the best out of this snow conditions, and we enjoy nice weather tours in Bucegi mountains.
Then we moved in the forest around Brasov city, for a walk in spring weather conditions around the forest of Brasov.

During a winter tour, weather can bring you to heaven or not! Something like this was happening during our splitboard trip in Bucegi mountains, at the end of February, when weather was not as good as we expected!
We did our best, we climbed Tataru peak in one of the days when was worth to go out, but the most beautiful day was the last one, when we get 30 cm of fresh snow, and we enjoyed our way back to Sinaia!

On September 2014 I was kindly asked by Sander to organize a splitboard trip for him and his girlfriend, Elzbieta. Both were beginners in touring and splitboading, and were very clear on the tours they request: more touring then climbing peaks. And this we did. We enjoyed four days in Bucegi mountains and two days in Piatra Craiului national park.
As is in January here, we didn’t have too many sunny moments, but we were happy with the snow quality, the views and the most important ever, we have all the mountains just for us and those b… (>>>)
