They are from Zaragoza, near the Pirineos and they were first time in Romania on winter of 2012, when the weather was not on our side. Anyway, after 3 years they returned to see if we can discover now the Romanian mountains on better weather. And we did! The first plan was Bucegi and Fagaras mountains, but at the end was Bucegi mountains and a speed climbing tour on Poiana Brasov ski resort, on a heavy snowing day! This time Bucegi mountains were great and we enjoyed everything, snow, sun, weather conditions and not the last the delicious foo… (>>>)
During a winter tour, weather can bring you to heaven or not! Something like this was happening during our splitboard trip in Bucegi mountains, at the end of February, when weather was not as good as we expected! We did our best, we climbed Tataru peak in one of the days when was worth to go out, but the most beautiful day was the last one, when we get 30 cm of fresh snow, and we enjoyed our way back to Sinaia! Enjoy the photos, Iulian, March 2015
I am just back from a week of backcountry skiing tour That Iulian organized for our group in the Carpathian Mountains. He over delivered compared to our expectations. Iulian is not only a mountain lover able to transmit his passion. He is also trustworthy on all aspects of a trip, including the sometimes boring logistics. A very competent and trustworthy mountain guide but also a nice person with a great sense of humour. I strongly recommend Iulian to anyone wanting to discover the Romanian wilderness. On September 2014 I was kindly asked by Sander to organize a splitboard trip for him and his girlfriend, Elzbieta. Both were beginners in touring and splitboading, and were very clear on the tours they request: more touring then climbing peaks. And this we did. We enjoyed four days in Bucegi mountains and two days in Piatra Craiului national park. As is in January here, we didn’t have too many sunny moments, but we were happy with the snow quality, the views and the most important ever, we have all the mountains just for us and those b… (>>>)
Four days of mild, relaxed hiking on the hills of Bran Country and up in Bucegi Mountains passed by like a nice, warm summer breeze with David and Catherine. Lush green pastures were feasting our eyes, a surprising encounter for the end of August, when all vegetation is starting to show the sings of autumn.
It was a perfect escape from a busy place for our two guests, who thoroughly enjoyed every minute, every meter of quiet trail, serene forest or majestic mountain crest. Batteries charging time at its best, just a couple of hours flight f… (>>>)
On the last years we deal quite a lot with hikers or bikers from Benelux countries. Well, I can say from the flat countries of Benelux. We were warned by Sigge to be carefully with them, because they bike and hike flat. Sometime they were very good prepared for climbs on bikes or on hikes, or sometime they were well surprised when they have to climb 1000 m in one climb. But this may happen when you travel for an active vacation. And when this active vacation happen to be in Carpathian mountains, be sure that we can find 500 or 1000 meters to climb f… (>>>)
Ausrine, Karolis, Aurimas și Tadas drove 1500km from Lithuania to Romania with four bikes on the rooftop of their car, hoping for some unforgettable mountain biking experiences in the Romanian Carpathian Mountains, near Brașov City. And that’s precisely what they’ve got.
We rode our bikes together on nicely flowing trails and technical single tracks, on long climbs and endless descents, through forests an pastures, over roots and rocks. We enjoyed some really unusual weather, going through sun, rain, clouds, win… (>>>)
Word about our mtb tours in the Carpathian mountains, Transylvania, is constantly spreading. Bikers from Germany, Austria, The Netherlands, UK, Sweden are coming here for a few good years now, and it was about time for the French mountain bikers to show up.
Jean and Nelly flew over from Toulouse, searching for some nice single trails, single track, all-mountain type biking to test their brand new 27.5 full-suspension bikes. And that’s precisely what they’ve found, along with gorgeous scenery, delicious food, perfe… (>>>)
As Karin said, was a smooth, quiet and relaxing tour! As in every autumn, I’m happy to enjoy at least one tour in Fagaras mountains, my home mountains…..and this year Karin was the one who “invite” me on a tour up there. Karin was a mathematics teacher at Doamna Stanca high school in Fagaras town, on the start of ’70, and she used to hike sometime up in Fagaras mountains. Now, after so many years she came back to visit some friends, and to enjoy a hike up there! We agreed first for a long traverse of Fagaras, fro… (>>>)
Noemi is originally from Fagaras town, my home town, but as few “Fagaraseni” she choose to live in US, getting married in US, and enjoy her life on the other part of the world.
During their short holiday in Romania, wedding, family relatives visits, they enjoyed a two days walk on the high hills of South East Transylvania, on the high hills of Bran country, Brasov’s city backyard.
And we were very lucky with weather! On the night before the trip were very heavy rains all over, but as you may see on the photos, during our wa… (>>>)
