Explore Romania, enjoy mountains and culture

In brief, it was like this: we all enjoyed a two week tour in Romania, yes in Romania, meaning that we explored half of the country, driving, walking and tasting delicious food! In detail, we were in Bucharest, Sinaia, Bucegi mountains, Simon mountain village, Brasov city, Fagaras mountains, Balea Lake, Ucea de Sus village, Sibiu, Sighisoara, Gura Humorului and painted monasteries from that area and finally back to Bucharest. It was a tour with all the necessary ingredients, sun, some rain, lovely landscapes, good jokes and most im… (>>>)

Walking in Piatra Craiului National Park, Romania

With Iulian away to study the effect of the global warming on the ski touring activities in Switzerland, I had the honor to open the 2013 hiking season at mountainguide.ro. Together with Anne and Martha, we enjoyed mild weather and quiet trails in Bran County, through the Zărnești Gorges, the villages of Peștera, Șirnea, Fundata and Moeciu de Sus. As you can tell from the photos.

În lipsa lui Iulian, plecat în Elveția să studieze efectul încălzirii globale asupra schiului de tură în Elveția, mi-a revenit mie onoarea de a deschide sezo… (>>>)

A short but nice hiking tour in Bucegi mountains, with a group of men from Holland. They choose to meet for a hiking tour in Romania, and they came from all over the world, from Amsterdam, from Munich and from … Shanghai.  We had good weather, and this was a good part, because they enjoy the tour.

Riding in Piatra Craiului National Park

This last weekend, 14 May 2011, we just finished the longest mountain biking tour ever :-). We started in August 2010 in Simon village and finished it in May 2011 further 20 kilometers away, near Zarnesti. You’d say quite a short ride for such a long time and you’d be right. The plan was to do the tour over one weekend last summer, but after a gorgeous Saturday the rain came. We weren’t able to reschedule the second part of the tour until this May, so voila, mystery revealed.

Steve and Robbie wanted to go on some more techni… (>>>)

Below you may see some photos from our tour.

Kind regards, Iulian Cozma… (>>>)
