Bucegi and Fagaras mountains with Italian hikers

We have planned with our Italian friends a week-long traverse of the Southern Carpathians in July 2018, starting in Sinaia, across Bucegi, than along the main section of the Fagaras ridge, from Sambata to Negoiu.

After a good start in Bucegi mountains, the weather turned for the bad when we moved to Fagaras mountains. Australian hikers in Romanian mountains

Hi Iulian, Back in Australia now after my European sojourn and a bit sadden to read the news about the unrest in Bucharest. I hope something positive comes from it all.

But because of a very wet period in July, we had to reorganize our tour, but even despite the bad and wet weather, we succeed to traverse Piatra Mare mountain r… (>>>)

Hiking in Romania, hiking in Transylvania, Fagaras mountains

Last week I’ve meet with Christa and Ole the beginning of the autumn and also the First end of it . It’s always like that during this time. The snow has to make it’s entry.

So we could see the earlier filled with tourist paths, now empty or with just a few people. The huts were the same, warm and friendly people up there. Being in the higher mountains was suddenly still. The weather was good for the autumn: clouds, fog, lower sun which generate longer shadows(better for picture taking) – everything was reminding us that it is Fall. The mood was r… (>>>)
