Bucegi traverse in Romania

We were visiting Romania with work, and bringing customers with us we wanted to do something on two days we had spare with our group of six. I rarely use a guide, but due to the timescale and wanting everything to go smoothly I found Iulian to assist. From the outset he was a true professional, and through emails back and forth we had a plan, and he’d arranged transfers from our hotel to the start of the walk. Cross country skiing in the Bucegi Mountains, Transylvania – March 17/25, 2018

At the end of March snow Gods were on our side, snow was enough and good quality for our cross country skiing tour in Bucegi and Postavaru mountains. The group of happy people from Genova enjoy the tour all the time, despite the weather conditions, low visibility, cold and windy, but hey, is March, is winter! Amplid splitboards in Romanian mountains

Bereits zum zweiten mal ging es in die Karparten zum Splitboarden. Letztes Jahr waren wir schon begeistert von der Natur den Touren und dem tollen Essen. Waren wir bis jetzt „nur“ im Bucegi Gebirge unterwegs, so sollten es diesmal auch ein paar Tage im Fagaras sein. Die Bedingungen waren im Durchschnitt ziemlich gut und so hatten wir einige tolle Touren mit teilweise großartigen Abfahrten.

Splitboarding trip to Romania, Fagaras and Bucegi mountains

Michael and his wife Bianca were here, in Bucegi mountains last year at begin of January, and we did a ski touring, splitboard and snowshoeing trip in Bucegi mountains. We start at Sinaia resort, on beautiful spring time, even if was 5th of January, enjoying some some sunny days in Bucegi central part, and ending in big powder snow in Simon and Moeciu de Sus mountain villages!

What a wonderful trip in the South East of the Transylvania mountains loved every bit of it, and our accommodation was excellent every where we went. From time to time, some Irish ramblers go abroad, and they are hungry to discover new destinations. Few years ago, Martin and his friends landed in Carpathian mountains for a tour, together with another 10 friends.

We are 4 Israeli Bikers who have been on two previous European Bike Trips. We have been riding for 15 years and have a lot of experience. But this last week exceeded it all by far. Israeli mountain bikers in Bucegi Mountains

The Israeli mountain bikers seem generally reluctant to go for a full-mountain experience. Lacking experience in tackling long ascents and natural mountain trails, they more often than not opt for “safer” programs, with more cable car lifts, minibus transfers, fewer hours on the trails, etc.

Habitués des raids à ski nordique ou alpin sous (presque) toutes les latitudes, nous souhaitions cette fois explorer les Carpates roumaines. Nous n’en connaissions guère plus que les créatures fantastiques qui peuplent notre imaginaire collectif quand on évoque la Transylvanie.

Bucegi traversing, Old border hiking

When a Australian couple want to go home, they still travel. This was doing Zac and his friends, at the end of three years stay in UK. They were going home travelling from country to country, and they stop for few days hiking in Bucegi mountains, South East of Transylvania.
