Wild flower walking tour in Transylvanian Alps

They came all the way from Australia, visiting Tinne’s family in Holland but also to see the wild flower-rich meadows that Transylvania is known for. In some parts the horse and cart is still the normal mode of transport, and hay is cut and stacked by hand – an everyday reality. We wound our way up through forested mountains in Bucegi and along fertile valleys with views of steep alpine meadows in Simon village with an extraordinary diversity of flowers. Cross country skiing in Romania, Bucegi mountains

I did a lot of ski tours in Romanian Carpathians, but now is time to explore a new type of skiing, cross country skiing, with a very nice group of French skiers! I was surprised how light and how strong were the skis, how fast you can climb, and how hard is to ski. But all in one was fun and a nice week.

Not too much snow indeed, but for our skis, the snow was just enough and we were able to traverse Bucegi mountains, from Sinaia to Moeciu de Sus mountain village.

Walking in Transylvania

My group of friends and I were accompanied by Iulian on a 6-day trip through the high hills of Bran county area, between Bucegi and Piatra Craiului mountains. Communication before the trip was clear and we did not have any issues.

Iulian was there to pick us up from the station before we began our hike. He possess a wealth of knowledge and experience of the area that was very much appreciated and value-adding.
