My wife bought this trip for me for Christmas and for my wife it was an importance that I could travel with a guide where trust and personality were the key words. And I must say that it was as she hoped.
My trip was a mountaineering trip over 5 days. Before I even arrived, I have had a long and positive dialogue with Iulian, who even offered to lend me some equipment that i needed. I received lots of good advice and I felt very well prepared to be alone in Romania.
The tour, which included only me, took place under great conditions because we were lucky with the weather. Iulian, who is also an amateur photographer, took lots of good pictures, so I had plenty of pictures with me in them when I got home. After a few days, I unfortunately injured my foot, so we just changed the plans, depending on what I could do and wanted to. This would not be possible with established travel companies, and it shows the flexibility that this guide have. You really talk with Iulian, and he reminds you that it’s your trip and your experience.
At the houses where we stayed, it was like going to a distant relative, and it is clearly preferable to a hotel. The rooms are the same as on a 3-star hotel, but otherwise it’s like being in someone’s warm home. Be prepared for the care and kindness of all Romanians. They are amazing helpful, caring and humorous. Also in the big cities.
Iulian gave me a constant sense of security because he knows all the mountains, and takes your level into account. Additionally, he has a great historical knowledge of the country, why he is a good guide anywhere. He really goes beyond the obligation as a guide, so I felt that I traveled with a friend and not a guide. I’ll come back one day, both to travel with Iulian, but also to meet the lovely and inspiring people and see the beautiful scenery.

Jeg fik denne tur af min kone i julegave og for min kone var det en vigtighed at jeg kunne rejse med en guide hvor tillid og personlighed var nøgleordene. Og det må jeg sige, at det var som håbet.
Min tur var en mountaineering-tur over 5 dage. Før at jeg overhovedet ankom, havde jeg haft en lang og god dialog med Iulian, som endda tilbød at låne mig udstyr som jeg ikke havde. Jeg modtog masser af gode råd og følte mig derfor meget velforberedt på at være alene i Rumænien.
Turen, som kun inkluderede mig, foregik under fantastiske forhold, da vi var heldige med vejret. Iulian, som også er amatørfotograf, tog masser af gode billeder, så jeg havde minder når jeg kom hjem, hvilket jeg ikke havde fået, hvis jeg selv skulle have gået med kameraet. Efter et par dage, kom jeg desværre til skade med min fod, så vi ændrede bare planerne, alt efter hvad jeg kunne klare og havde lyst til. Dette havde ikke kunne lade sig gøre ved etablerede rejseselskaber, og det viser den fleksibilitet der er ved denne guide. I taler sammen, og Iulian minder dig om at det er din tur og dine oplevelser.
På de pensionater hvor vi overnattede, var det som at komme til en fjern slægtning, og det er klart at foretrække frem for et hotel. Værelserne er det samme som på et 3-stjernet hotel, men ellers er det som at være i en anden persons varme hjem. Vær forberedt på omsorg og venlighed hos alle rumænere. De er fantastiske hjælpsomme, omsorgsfulde og humoristiske. Også i de store byer.
Iulian gav mig en konstant følelse af tryghed, da han kender alle bjerge, og tager hensyn til dit niveau. Derudover, har han en stor historisk viden om landet, hvorfor han er en god guide alle steder. Han går virkelig udover pligten som guide, hvorfor at jeg følte at jeg rejste med en ven, og ikke en guide. Jeg kommer tilbage en dag, både for at rejse med Iulian, men også for at møde det dejlige og inspirerende folk og se den smukke natur.
