Hi Iulian, I wanted to thank you for organizing a fantastic trekking trip in the Carpathian Mountains and a great driving trip to the painted monasteries in Moldova. My wife and I enjoyed ourselves tremendously in Romania. You were very thorough and organized in all facets of the planning process and it helped our trip go smoothly. Iulian empfing uns persönlich am Flughafen Baneasa und wir (Kerstin, Patrick, Iulian und ich) wurden im klimatisierten VW-Bus nach Kronstadt (Brasov) und am nächsten Tag dann nach Freck (Avrig) zum Toureinstieg gefahren. Unter Iulians Bergführung erwanderten wir (Kerstin, Patrick und ab Balea auch Mat) den Hauptkamm der Fogarascher Berge vom Serbota-Gipfel (Westen) bis zu “Fereastra Mare a Sambetei” (Sambata – Sattel) (Osten) in der Zeitspanne 16. – 21. Juli 2011.

Sub ghidarea montana a lui Iulian am strabatut (Kerstin, Patrick iar din Balea si Mat) Creasta Fagarasilor din varful Serbota (vest) pana in Fereastra Mare a Sambetei (est) in perioada 16. – 21. iulie 2011.

Lieber Iulian, eine Woche nach der Rückkehr aus den Bergen passiert es pausenlos, dass die Gedanken zurück fliegen und die herrlichen Bilder wieder erscheinen. Einfach großartig, was Du uns gezeigt hast! (Uns) WIR, das waren vier wildfremde “Gipfelstürmer”, die eine Woche lang gemeinsame Wege im Fagarash erkundeten, Berge bestiegen, Tisch und Hütte teilten. Vermutlich war es für jeden von uns ein mit Spannung und Skepsis eingegangenes Experiment.

Our trek through the Carpathian Mountains was outstanding in every way.  Going off the beaten path, hiking along ridgelines and down into villages provided so many rewarding vistas that you could never experience from the road.  The historic and cultural sites, including Peles Castle and Voronet Monastery were very interesting.  It was also wonderful to experience the people, food and culture by staying overnight at pensions in the towns where they were available.  In the beautiful small city of Brasov where we stayed in a hotel, … (>>>)

Thanks for the photos. It took a few days to physically return to my time zone, but all is well now and I’ve labeled all my photos with a caption.

I had a fabulous time hiking and seeing the sights as well as meeting people in a new culture. Although we didn’t hike at Balea Lake, it still was one of my favorite experiences contending with hail, sleet, fog and snow at the end of June. Our passage on the twisting Transfagarasan Road up to Balea Lake could only be appreciated after stopping and looking back down the valley to see it. I&#… (>>>)

I enjoyed our tour with you. The food and accommodations were wonderful. You were able to change your plans to meet the challenges of poor weather, and our wishes to change plans as we went. Lieber Mihai, auf diesem Wege nochmals ein herzliches Dankeschön für die unglaublichen drei Tage in der Umgebung von Brasov. Du hast das Programm (Wandern, Besichtigung Bran) sehr perfekt auf uns abgestimmt und wir erlebten unvergesslich wunderschöne Momente in dieser tollen Landschaft rund um Brasov. We tried to climb Mount Moldoveanu by mid-October 2010 but we were blocked by the first snow storm of the season.Therefore we decided to give it another try this June,Once more Iulian had organized everything perfect.

We started by 8 hours hike from Balea lake to Podragu hut before to do the final climb on Sunday 19th.The weather was overall good and we reached the top after 3,5 hours.The view was superb and on the way back we had the opportunity to watch the rhododendrons that are blossoming at this time of the year.Iulian knows the Fagara… (>>>)

Amazed by the pic on the DVD – never seen that before.  Thanks very much indeed for your guiding, care and company.
