Wanting to learn more about the region my father grew up, I travelled once more to Transylvania, this time with my partner who loves mountains and adventures. Since it was the first time for me to do a hike, I contacted Iulian and asked for help. We agreed on a 3-day trip in the Făgăraș Mountains.

We spend 10 days in Transylvania by ourself with family and friends from Boița. Then the big day of departure in the mountains was there…

Wandern in Siebenburgen, willkommen in der Natur

Eva and Christian enjoyed a mountain biking tour in Transylvania last summer as well, and now they came back with other 6 friends. For biking and walking. And we all really enjoyed the days we spent together. Weather was like on Spring, sun, heavy rains, blue sky, but all ended well. We start from Biertan saxon village, and ended in Simon mountain village, walking and biking. In Viscri we get a 50% off from the church ticket, because we arrive by bike, and we walk there, and this was cool. The we visit Piatra Craiului visitors center, and we w… (>>>)

Walking in Transylvania

My group of friends and I were accompanied by Iulian on a 6-day trip through the high hills of Bran county area, between Bucegi and Piatra Craiului mountains. Communication before the trip was clear and we did not have any issues.

Iulian was there to pick us up from the station before we began our hike. He possess a wealth of knowledge and experience of the area that was very much appreciated and value-adding. This included explaining the different cultures and customs and way of living in the villages, the food and animals and other aspec… (>>>)

I meet Artur and his friends 5 years ago, when we hiked in Fagaras mountains, traversing the main ridge from Bracaciu hut to Podragu hut, with a climb to the highest peaks in Romania. And after five years, they returned for another hike, this time in Piatra Craiului national park, Bucegi mountains and on Brasov backyard, the high hills of Bran area. Splitboard trip in Romania, Bucegi mountains, South East of Transylvania

During a winter tour, weather can bring you to heaven or not! Something like this was happening during our splitboard trip in Bucegi mountains, at the end of February, when weather was not as good as we expected! We did our best, we climbed Tataru peak in one of the days when was worth to go out, but the most beautiful day was the last one, when we get 30 cm of fresh snow, and we enjoyed our way back to Sinaia! Enjoy the photos, Iulian, March 2015

Ski touring in Romania, Bucegi and Poiana Brasov ski resort

I am just back from a week of backcountry skiing tour That Iulian organized for our group in the Carpathian Mountains. He over delivered compared to our expectations. Iulian is not only a mountain lover able to transmit his passion. He is also trustworthy on all aspects of a trip, including the sometimes boring logistics. A very competent and trustworthy mountain guide but also a nice person with a great sense of humour. I strongly recommend Iulian to anyone wanting to discover the Romanian wilderness. Walking holiday in Transylvania, Romania, Bran county and Bucegi mountains

Four days of mild, relaxed hiking on the hills of Bran Country and up in Bucegi Mountains passed by like a nice, warm summer breeze with David and Catherine. Lush green pastures were feasting our eyes, a surprising encounter for the end of August, when all vegetation is starting to show the sings of autumn.

It was a perfect escape from a busy place for our two guests, who thoroughly enjoyed every minute, every meter of quiet trail, serene forest or majestic mountain crest. Batteries charging time at its best, just a couple of hours flight f… (>>>)

Dutch hikers in Romania, hiking in Fagaras mountains

On the last years we deal quite a lot with hikers or bikers from Benelux countries. Well, I can say from the flat countries of Benelux. We were warned by Sigge to be carefully with them, because they bike and hike flat. Sometime they were very good prepared for climbs on bikes or on hikes, or sometime they were well surprised when they have to climb 1000 m in one climb. But this may happen when you travel for an active vacation. And when this active vacation happen to be in Carpathian mountains, be sure that we can find 500 or 1000 meters to climb f… (>>>)
