Schneeschuhwandern in Bran Country, Transsilvanien

Five friends from London came to Romania this winter for a snowshoeing trip across the hills and glens of the Bran Country. Conditions varied from cold winter to warm spring, with fresh snow or pleasant sunshine, with a little bit of mud added to mix. Fortunately no rain, but – we will say it over and over again, as it is simply very trye – there is no such thing as bad weather in the mountains. Just bad clothing.

Everyone’s photo camera was put to good use and abuse, as you can see from the gallery below. Be it a smartphone, a action cam or a high end dslr with a generous selection of lenses and even a tripod, they all enjoyed great scenery and beautiful light.

Londoners, but not really English. Out of the five brave trekkers only one was truly Brit, the others coming from Australia, Philippines or Italy. They were coming from over the world to work in London, and then traveled for a snowshoeing holiday in Romania, in the Bran Country. Of all places. We were more than happy to give our contribution to this globalization puzzle 🙂

Alex, we are waiting you for a ski touring experience!
