Walking tour in Romanian countryside

Nick hiked in Romania back on 2008 and 2009. And since then we were from time to time in contact, even meeting for a drink in London some years ago. And on 2019 we start to plan another tour, this time for Nick, Louise and the girls!

But the Covid change our plans and we delayed the tour for more than a year! But the wait was well worth it, because the tour was a 4 season tour: we had summer, autumn and winter weather, and all during one week!

The tour start in Sinaia and Predeal, lovely forest walks, then we moved to Brasov city back garden in Bran coun… (>>>)

The high trails of the Carpathians on mountain bike

We ended a long and consistent season of mountain biking with an extended Transylvanian Alps tour, together with a cheerful group of Belgian bikers. We rode across Ciucas Mountains, Grohotisului and Baiului Mountains, the mighty Bucegi Massif, and the impressive Piatra Craiului.

Long ascents, even longer descents, endless trails. Mountain biking as it should be. Come and taste it for yourself in the Romanian Carpathian Mountains! Horia, September 2016(>>>)

CAI Mirano on a trip to Transylvania

A presto dunque, buona montagna e buona vita! G(>>>)

Mountain biking Romania, Ciucas, Bucegi and Piatra Craiului national park

Two words come to mind when remembering our six days expert mountain biking trip we organized for four Austrian riders. Brutal und Total. I kept hearing those two words day after day, trail after trail, uphill after uphill and descent after descent. I am not a German language expert, but it was pretty obvious our friends were really excited by their mountain biking experience in the Transylvanian Carpathian Mountains.

We covered five different mountains – Ciucaș, Grohotișului, Baiului, Bucegi and Piatra Craiului – t… (>>>)

Israeli walkers in Carpathian garden, Romania

Few years ago, an Israeli hiker told me: you can leave me here, near this river, and I just stay to look at the running water for hours or days! What we need is green forest and running water! And Paz was right! Almost every year a group of Israeli nature lovers choose to hike or bike with us. And each time we are surprised how “hungry” for nature they are. The weather is not so important if they are out in back-country, even if is rainy or beautiful sunny day, because they are enjoying every moment of their holiday in our Carpathian g… (>>>)

Mountain biking in Transylvania, Saxon villages

Mountain biking in Transylvania, Saxon villages

Our first mtb tour of the 2014 season was scheduled just before Easter. A very sunny and warm beginning of April, coming after an equally warm and dry winter, gave as hopes for a perfect biking weather during our five days ride with Eileen and Yves.

Two days before starting the tour, winter finally came to our mountains. Not the best circumstances for a bike tour. Keeping our rides at lower altitudes, we fought our way through some wet snow and plenty of rain before switching for a day of ski-touring up in Poiana Brașov resort.

Then we moved … (>>>)
