Family Hiking in the countryside of Bran mountain village

In the spring of 2022, between Covid and the war in Ukraine, I had the pleasure to organize a hiking tour for a grandfather Johannes, and his grandson Adrian, both from Germany.

Johannes had been to Romania about 30 years ago, like any young Neamt who wanted to explore Eastern Europe.

Then he walked the ridge of the Piatra Craiului, now we enjoyed walking at the base of the ridge, different age, different desires.

Walking tour in Romanian countryside

Nick hiked in Romania back on 2008 and 2009. And since then we were from time to time in contact, even meeting for a drink in London some years ago. And on 2019 we start to plan another tour, this time for Nick, Louise and the girls!

But the Covid change our plans and we delayed the tour for more than a year! But the wait was well worth it, because the tour was a 4 season tour: we had summer, autumn and winter weather, and all during one week!

As most of the requests, the one I received from Bernhard was simple: I would like to hike in Romania with my daughter, kind of gift for her 18 years old birthday! Is not first time when parents are coming with kids to hike in Romania, as presents for any type of anniversary, but each time is special! The interest of a young person just to go hiking on another country, with one of the parents, surprise me each time! And this time I choose for them Bucegi and Fagaras mountains, the most representatives mountain ranges in Romanian Carpathian.

Amplid splitboards in Romanian mountains

Bereits zum zweiten mal ging es in die Karparten zum Splitboarden. Letztes Jahr waren wir schon begeistert von der Natur den Touren und dem tollen Essen. Waren wir bis jetzt „nur“ im Bucegi Gebirge unterwegs, so sollten es diesmal auch ein paar Tage im Fagaras sein. Die Bedingungen waren im Durchschnitt ziemlich gut und so hatten wir einige tolle Touren mit teilweise großartigen Abfahrten.

Explore Romania, enjoy mountains and culture

In brief, it was like this: we all enjoyed a two week tour in Romania, yes in Romania, meaning that we explored half of the country, driving, walking and tasting delicious food! In detail, we were in Bucharest, Sinaia, Bucegi mountains, Simon mountain village, Brasov city, Fagaras mountains, Balea Lake, Ucea de Sus village, Sibiu, Sighisoara, Gura Humorului and painted monasteries from that area and finally back to Bucharest. Our Romanian Bike Trip, Israeli mountain bikers

We are 4 Israeli Bikers who have been on two previous European Bike Trips. We have been riding for 15 years and have a lot of experience. But this last week exceeded it all by far. From the minute that we were met at the airport until the last drop off back at the airport, a week later, it was all about personal attention, responsibility and true caring that was displayed by our amazing guide Horia. Exploring Transylvanian mountains, Bucegi and Piatra Craiului

Was the first snow from this year, but we were not scared about it. We were hiking in Bucegi mountains and Piatra Craiului national park, on snow, sun and beautiful weather. They came from Luxembourg, being hiking on other different places before this trip. And, as almost always, Mike, Dan and their friends were surprised by our mountains, and not by our food. Welcome to nature, walking in Romania

Betty and Joël came for a long weekend hike and a short visit of Bucharest city. The right places for this type of tour are Bucegi natural park and the high hills of Bran county. We started our tour with a warm up hike on the Western part of Bucegi mountains, then crossed over to Moeciu de Sus, ending in the picturesque mountain village of Simon. It was the best time of the year to hike, with the right weather conditions and this was something which motivated us to keep on hiking and enjoying the beautiful nature!

Falling in love with the Carpathians

Thank you Horia and Iulian for two awesome days in Brasov and Piatra Craiului National Park! When I arrived in Rumania with my car and my bike the only thing I was sure about was that I want to explore some parts of the Carpathians. After a challenging experience on my own I decided on Monday afternoon to ask Iulian to guide me for the next two days: Thursday and Wednesday. I was very lucky! באוגוסט 2016 יצאנו עם הרבה חששות והתרגשות שישה חברים לטיול ריצה בהרי רומניה. כולנו רצים מנוסים במרוצי עיר אך עם מעט ניסיון בריצות שטח ועוד פחות ניסיון בריצה בתוואי הררי. לאחר מספר בירורים יצרו קשר עם מספר מדריכים מקומיים אחד מהם היה יוליאן – מדריך טיולים מקומי שיושב בעיר ברשוב. מהמייל הראשון עשה יוליאן רושם מקצועי ורציני מאד. רושם שרק הלך והתחזק עם התקדמות התכנון של הטיול. הטיול תוכנן כך שיכלול ארבעה ימי ריצה מתגלגלים בהרי פגראש, במהלכם החלפנו מספר מלונות, נדרשנו למספר הקפצות רכב וכלל לינה ואוכל במקומות שונים לאורך המסלול, כל התאומים והתכ… (>>>)
