I\u2019ve hired a few professional guides over the years and Iulian is by far the best and the nicest I\u2019ve come across. He\u2019s totally competent and professional, which is what you pay for and expect, but you don\u2019t often get the feeling that your guide is enjoying the programme as much as you. Iulian goes way beyond the call of duty. I can\u2019t fault him in any way, and we certainly tested him! On top of having such a congenial guide, the Carpathians are a wonderful combination of really wild mountain country like you probably can\u2019t find anywhere else in Europe, plus a rich and colourful history that\u2019s left its mark all around, including ancient buildings such as the amazing Saxon fortified churches which Iulian will take you to and are a delight to visit when your leg muscles are screaming at you to take a break. We\u2019ve already diarised our next trip with Iulian in 2008. I can\u2019t wait to go back.<\/p>\n
