Walking on Dracula county
Walking in Bran county (know as Dracula county) is a very nice idea, if you know where to go. The most beautiful routes are traversing mountain villages of Magura, Pestera, Sirnea, Moeciu de Sus, Fundatica, Fundata and Simon, but not on marked routes, so is not easy to find your way. Even with a map is not easy. Not the last, walking near by or traversing near sheep farms can be delicate from sheep dog point of vewi. So be very carefully when you see some dogs. This are sheep dogs not pets! I can say that last week the weather was very nice for walking and especially for photography, as you may see, the food was good and tasty, so I think the trip was a nice one for Kelly and Loreine.

We just returned from an amazing 6 days of hiking tour in the Romanian mountains and any expectations that we had were well surpassed. There is so much beautiful countryside in the Bran county area of Romania, and having Iulian as a guide meant that we got to see the real way of life in this area (which in some cases has not changed for 100′s of years) rather than just the tourist sites and mapped trails. There were many hours of walking when we saw no people…just cows, sheep and horses. Iulian’s knowledge of the area is invaluable on a trip like this, and he did everything he could to make sure we got the most out of our trip. The food we were served in the different boarding houses in the mountain villages was of very good quality and delicious…even though we were vegetarians in a largely meat-eating country! Iulian even made sure that we had a bus ticket to Bucharest to get to the airport on time, going out of his way to meet us in the early morning at the station and make sure the driver knew where we needed to get off. We would highly recommend Iulian to anyone visiting Romania. No matter what you would like to do I’m sure he can make it happen!
