Senderismo en Rumania, senderismo en los Cárpatos
During April 9th-14th 2009, due to the Easter Holidays, I went hiking for 4 days with Kaoshortanord, Club de Muntanya, from Valencia-Spain. I can say I was pleasantly surprised to find out that, in a city like Valencia, located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, there is a club for mountain tours. Unfortunately our Black Sea cities do not have any hiking clubs at all. Anyway, as I found out during the tour, the weather in Valencia in this time of year was not very “friendly” (rainy and quite cold, as I understood). However, during our 4 days tour in Romania the weather was just perfect: not too warm and not too cold, just fine for hiking and sightseeing. The tours went mainly through the hills around Bran Castle, Moeciu de Sus and Magura villages, as well as in the Postavaru mountain area, near Brasov. On the last day, we also did a nice traverse through the Baiului mountains, from Predeal to Azuga. One of the highlights of the tour was the visit at the LIBEARTY Bear Sanctuary from Zarnesti, where we have met Mrs. Cristina Lapis, President of the Association “Millions of Friends”, who was kind enough to give us a tour around the sanctuary, emphasizing once again what we all already know: the worst animals on the planet are the humans!!! Picking up on a different matter now: it was now – for the first time in 10 years of tour organizing -, that I have disappointingly realized that the mentality of most of our waiters is still rooted in communist behavior, in spite of the fact that we are talking about a whole new generation, barely over 30 years old. It breaks my heart, but it is true!

Hace unos días que estamos en Valencia después de haber hecho el trekking por Rumanía con vuestra excelente compañía. Nos habéis enseñado el espléndido paisaje de los Cárpatos y en primer lugar queremos agradecer vuestra paciencia con todos nosotros y vuestra hospitalidad. También agradecer la seguridad que nos habéis transmitido en el recorrido por las montañas de Rumanía que hasta el momento desconocíamos.
Nos ha gustado descubrir y aprender con vosotros una parte de la cultura y de las costumbres de Transilvania, siempre con la amabilidad y simpatia que demostráis con vuestro trabajo. Agradeceros también vuestra eficacia y rapidez para resolver los pequeños inconvenientes que tuvimos y que para nada han ensombrecido el recorrido por vuestra maravillosa tierra. Para terminar, decir que cada día que pasaba, cada ruta que emprendíamos, superaba felizmente la anterior(Bucarest, Moieciu de Sus, Bran, Magura, Brasov, Predeal, Azuga, Sinaia), realmente un tour maravilloso y sorprendente.
