My team

This are the mountain guides who will lead the tours in Romanian mountains!

For each program what you request you will receive the name of the guide too, to know before who will be with you on the tour!

Iulian Cozma I am the owner of Iulian Cozma outdoor adventures travel agency, and I work as full time mountain guide since 1999. You will meet me on ski tours in Bucegi and Fagaras mountain, and in most hiking tours in summer time. In my task is all the logistics that we offer, transportation, accommodation, meals and suggestions for the program and not least, implementation of programs, so I’m the caretaker for your programs. I spoke English and I began to understand and German :)

Horia Horia Marusca is a licensed mountain guide since 1998. His main line of work comprises various creative activities – like photography, graphic design, video editing – but he remains in his heart a mountain man, always eager to put on the boots and hit the trails. He finds that alternating creative work with mountain guiding is helpful in both ways, keeping the routine at bay. Horia will gladly accompany you on the mountain trails, especially those interested in pedaling: biking tours is a new service offered here and he is eager to show what a beautiful place is Romania for mountain biking. Graduated a Journalism university, living for a period in Bucharest and now living in Brasov, Horia is a reliable person and I am happy and proud to work with him.I’m working with Horia since 2003. Horia will guide you on hiking, trekking, photo tours and mountain biking tours. In the past Horia has accompanied groups from Austria, Germany, UK, Sweden and Switzerland. Horia is fluent in English.

Mihai I’ve met Mihai Constantenec back in 2000, when he started the Sports University in Brasov. He has completed the mountain guide course 2005, dealing mainly with hiking and mountain biking, but he’s also good in ski touring. He is a gregarious man, sometimes a little shy, but he knows very well what he have to do. Do not try to challenge him because he is in a very good physical condition, result of participation in various touring, mountain biking and adventure racing. You will be with him on mountain hikes and mountain bike tours . He speaks English and German.

Christian Christian Binder is the youngest member of our team, he still follows the mountain guiding course from AGMR. He lived and went to school in Switzerland, but decided to return to Romania in 2007, the main occupation is as photographer. He participate annually in several mountain races where it strives to beat Mihai (without success until now ). You can meet him on mountainbiking and hiking in the Carpathian mountains, always accompanied a larger group with Iulian, Mihai or Horia. Speaks English, German, French.

For me it was the second time that I went on a trip with Iulian. Like last time (when I hiked to the highest peak in Romania – Moldoveanu) everything was very well organized by Iulian. We enjoyed good weather, snow was maybe not so ideal (too wet and heavy the first day and too icy the second day), but at least we knew at the end of these two days why we were tired. The Bucegi mountains are ideal for ski touring – and it’s good to have a guide like Iulian who knows the region and prevents you from going in the wrong direction. We stayed the night in a cozy and clean chalet in Pestera which allowed us to have a well-deserved rest after the first day. On the second day the temperatures were much lower and we found out at the end of the day that below 1700m it seemed as if the entire day it was foggy, windy and really cold. Fortunately we stayed above this altitude most of the day

Thanks very much for all your help in introducing us to your country and its people. We enjoyed both! We were truly impressed, though, by your thoughtfulness and attention.

Dear Iulian, thank you so very much for a wonderful time in your wonderful country. I appreciate your patience with us. It was a pleasure to be with you and to get to know you and, as Scott says, I too hope we can keep in touch!
