Was a group of friends and colleagues from university, who usually enjoy skiing in The Alps, but they decide to see how are the Carpathian mountains in winter time.
So, last February we enjoy a ski trip in Bucegi and Fagaras mountains, on perfect sunny days and powder snow!
As always, we were almost the only skiers in both areas, and this was one of the nicest part!
Bucegi mountains were great, our hosts Doina and Mircea, as always, very charming and welcoming people!

They were splitboarding in Romania last January. And they return because they enjoyed! This year weather was much better than last year, but the poor winter conditions across all Europe, was presented here too.

And after five years, they returned for another hike, this time in Piatra Craiului national park, Bucegi mountains and on Brasov backyard, the high hills of Bran area.
I was happy to meet them again, and enjoy some sunny days on South Carpathian mountains!
Our tour start with two days hike in Piatra Craiului national park, then we moved towards East, Moeciu de … (>>>)
Middle of February was not so very friendly with us. Weather was good, plenty of sun and good weather but pretty windy and the snow was pretty much packed in wind layers, so not very easy to enjoy a ski tour.
But even like this we find our ways to beautiful places to enjoy viewing the surrounding of the South East of Transylvania, Bran county, Piatra Craiului mountains.
After Bucegi mountains we visited Peles castle and Brasov city, our home town, and we were for two day skiing on Poiana Brasov ski resort. Slopes and snow quality were outsta… (>>>)
Few years ago, an Israeli hiker told me: you can leave me here, near this river, and I just stay to look at the running water for hours or days! What we need is green forest and running water!
And Paz was right!
Almost every year a group of Israeli nature lovers choose to hike or bike with us. And each time we are surprised how “hungry” for nature they are. The weather is not so important if they are out in back-country, even if is rainy or beautiful sunny day, because they are enjoying every moment of their holiday in our Carpathian g… (>>>)
