Bucegi mountains traverse, hiking in Romania

As usual, weather is weather, and in September sometime plans has to be changed because of HER. But based on our 20 years’ experience in organising hiking tours in Romanian mountains, weather is not an issue.The plan was to hike in Fagaras mountains, climbing Moldoveanu peak in two days hike, but just with few days before our trip, the first serious snow of this season came and we had to change our plans, because hiking has to be fun, not only climbing peaks! Splitboarding trip to Romania, Fagaras and Bucegi mountains

Michael and his wife Bianca were here, in Bucegi mountains last year at begin of January, and we did a ski touring, splitboard and snowshoeing trip in Bucegi mountains. We start at Sinaia resort, on beautiful spring time, even if was 5th of January, enjoying some some sunny days in Bucegi central part, and ending in big powder snow in Simon and Moeciu de Sus mountain villages!

When a Australian couple want to go home, they still travel. This was doing Zac and his friends, at the end of three years stay in UK. They were going home travelling from country to country, and they stop for few days hiking in Bucegi mountains, South East of Transylvania. Welcome to nature, walking in Romania

Betty and Joël came for a long weekend hike and a short visit of Bucharest city. The right places for this type of tour are Bucegi natural park and the high hills of Bran county. We started our tour with a warm up hike on the Western part of Bucegi mountains, then crossed over to Moeciu de Sus, ending in the picturesque mountain village of Simon. It was the best time of the year to hike, with the right weather conditions and this was something which motivated us to keep on hiking and enjoying the beautiful nature!

Hiking trip in Bucegi and Piatra Craiului mountains

Had the most amazing 4 days of trekking with Horia. He was an incredible guide and an all-around great guy. Our route took us through some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen and I can’t wait to go back to Romania and do it again. I recommend Iulian’s business to everyone I know!

Hiking Bucegi, enjoy the mountains!

Tura mea cu Horia a fost cadoul pe care mi l-am oferit anul acesta de ziua mea. Am găsit mountainguide.ro şi am fost surprinsă să văd atât de multe testimonialuri. Am citit câteva dintre ele, unele şi mai vechi, şi mi-am dat seama că nu aveau cum să fie inventate, totul era real. Am scris un mail scurt la adresa din contact, iar Iulian mi-a răspuns foarte prompt, spunându-mi că el nu este disponibil în perioada aceea, dar că Horia ar putea să mă însoţească într-o tură. Perfect!

Best way to get fit for a wedding party on the other side of the world? Three good days of proper mountain hiking through all kind of weather, from mild spring to full-winter blizzards and thunder-storm pouring snow.

During a winter tour, weather can bring you to heaven or not! Something like this was happening during our splitboard trip in Bucegi mountains, at the end of February, when weather was not as good as we expected! We did our best, we climbed Tataru peak in one of the days when was worth to go out, but the most beautiful day was the last one, when we get 30 cm of fresh snow, and we enjoyed our way back to Sinaia!
