Bucegi mountains traverse

Bucegi mountains traverse

Hello! You may find below some images from a 2 days tour, when I traverse Bucegi mountains with a group of students from Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium, from Erlangen town, from Germany. The original plan was that we will go up to Bucegi mountains by the cable car from Busteni, but our plans were ruined by the cable car station from Busteni who was broke again … So next morning we travel to Sinaia Cota 1400’s by 2 small buses, and here we were very lucky because we catch the cable care up to Cota 2000 from Sinaia, where we start our w… (>>>)

Vandring i Rumänien

Between July 2 and July 9, I was organizing a hiking and a walking tour for a group from Sweden. The tour was in Fagaras mountains and in Maramures county. In Fagaras we hiked in Barcaciu – Negoiu areas, and in Maramures county around Botiza – Ieud – Barsana – Poienile Izei and Glod villages. We were in Maramures exactly on the right period to be able to enjoy the flowers on the hills. Iulian Cozma – July 25th, from Balea Lac in Fagaras mountains

Climbing Moldoveanu peak, Romania

Climbing Moldoveanu peak, the highest peak in Romania

Climbing Moldoveanu peak, the highest peak in Romanian mountains can be a easy job, or a hard one! For the four of us (Sarah, Hannah, David and me, Iulian) I can say it was a easy job with a wet ending, however it was great! The tour began in Balea Lac, with one day warm up, climbing Buteanu peak, one of the peaks over 2500 meters high from Romanian mountains, that offers one of the best views from all Fagaras range, but of course, you have to be there on the right time, otherwise is possible to just eat your sandwich in the clouds! We “chose&… (>>>)

Greetings, You may see some photos from Fagaras mountains and from the area of Bran castle villages, Moeciu de Sus and Poarta. The photos were taken between July 20-28. On the first day of the trip we, Silja, ?, Thomas, Rosana and me, Iulian, traverse Bucegi mountains, from Sinaia to Bangaleasa valley, over Omu peak. Between Babele rocks and Omu peak were a lot of people, like on boulevards of Bucharest, but on the way down to Moeciu de Sus nobody disturb us, and this was very nice! After this day we travel to Fagaras mountains, to Negoiu cha… (>>>)

Randonnée dans les montagnes Fagaras

Climbing Moldoveanu peak in Fagaras mountains

3 days in Fagaras mountains, climbing Moldoveanu peak, with a nice group of 5 persons. First 2 days the weather was ok, we were lucky on the day when we climb Moldoveanu peak, we can admire the view from up there. On the last day we had to change our plan, and descent to Victoria on Arpasul Mare valley, instead to go back to Balea Lac to recover our cars, but as Thomas and Aurelien said even the descent on the valley was nice and interesting. Enjoy the photos! Iulian Cozma

The Dilettante Society hiking trip

The Dilettante Society hiking trip in Romania

We had a marvellous 6 –day trek in the beautiful Carpathian mountains of Transylvania, mostly at an altitude of 1800 – 2500 meters. The landscape is beautiful and varied, with impressive forest at lower altitude and alpine as one gets higher. Wildlife is plentiful. We saw chamois on several occasions, came across fresh bear droppings and wild boar tracks. The trails are good and well maintained. The terrain can be quite challenging but still well within the abilities of a bunch of fairly fit 50 – 60 year olds. We were lucky with th… (>>>)

Vandring i Rumänien

Vandring i Rumänien

Thanks to Iulian Cozma , my cousin Britt and I had a fantastic and eventful week in Romania from the 19th to the 26th of September. On the first day , in the Bucegi Mountains, the sky was clear and the sun was shining as it did throughout the week. From Sinaia we took the cable car 700 m up till we were above the tree line. It was barren and cold, so we had to put on our hats and gloves. We walked 300 very long meters up to Omu Peak. Here we sat, in the sun, in front of a wooden cottage where one could buy soup, coffee and very sweet tea, and enjoyed the view ov… (>>>)
